Wine Review: This pale straw-colored Chardonnay opens with a mild crème brulee bouquet with hints of butter croissant. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium minus acidity. We also found it to be velvety and elegant. The flavor profile is a tasty mild pear and gentle Meyer lemon blend with notes of gentle oak, butter cream and green apple. We picked up some hints of chamomile tea and nicely integrated minerality towards the end. The finish is dry and sails away nicely. This Chard would pair well with Bluefin tuna carpaccio with torn picholine olives, crispy shallots & citrus sections or seared tuna. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The Gap's Crown Vineyard, long heralded as one of Sonoma's premier pinot noir properties, is now gaining notoriety for its Chardonnay. The 2018 vintage justifies all the hype. On the nose, you’ll sense limestone, white flowers, and fresh morning buns. With distinctive minerality, enhanced by notes of honeysuckle, Key lime, and fresh cream, this Chardonnay dances on the palate.
